Dear Friends and Alumni,

 

Our alma mater has been serving the community since 1866, thus it is with great excitement that we are commemorating 145 years of excellence. Preparations for our 16th Homecoming reunion celebration are being made.

 

Registration for the weekend will be held at the Florence National Guard Armory on Friday, October 21st from 3:00 - 6:00 PM. The cost of the packet for the weekend will be $55.00 per person (includes tickets to all events and the game).  The deadline for packet registration is October 2, 2011.

 

The Wilson Alumni Bowling Tournament will take place Thursday, October 20th at All Star Lanes.  Cost is $15 per person.

 

On Friday, Ocober 21st, the " Sixth Annual Wilson Alumni Golf Tournament" will be held at the Traces (4322 West Southborough Road, Florence SC). The tournament cost is $65.00 per person and includes lunch.  If you wish to sponsor a hole on the course, the cost is $200/gold, $100/silver, and $50/bronze.   Tee-off will be at 7:30 AM. On Friday evening, the Homecoming game (Wilson vs Socastee) will be played at the Florence Memorial Stadium at 7 PM. After the game, you are invited back to the National Guard Armory for fellowship and fun.

 

On Saturday, October 22nd, the HOMECOMING PARADE line-up will begin at 8:30 AM at the corner of West Evans and Edisto Streets. Classes are strongly enouraged to have entries that reflect royalty for the parade's theme:  "The Dynasty Reigns". The parade will promptly begin at 10:00 AM.  Please note:  (1) due to liability and safey issues, candy cannot be given and/or thrown to pedestrians during the parade, and (2) parking is prohibited at the old Winn Dixie location at the corner of Cashua and Evans Streets.

 

If your class did not contribute a minimum of $100.00 to Wilson during the school year (August 2010 - June 2011), you are asked to contribute $100.00 during this celebration time for Parade entry and Tigerfest Activities. This year, classes will be lined up from oldest to youngest.

 

Due to comfort, parking and other safety issues, this year "Tigerfest-Tailgate" will be held from 1-7 PM at the Florence Memorial Stadium and will feature live entertainment.  All persons 18 years of age and older are aked to give a $5 donation for admittance. Students will be admitted free with valid ID.  All children must be accompanied by adult.  A vendor area ($250 per space) is available for businesses for persons who are not affiliated with classes to purchase food.  Classes/businesses must register by October 2, 2011.  Permits and guidelines will be given at registration.  

 

The PURPLE and GOLD DANCE takes place Saturday evening at 9:00 PM at the Florence National Guard Armory (BYOB). During this time, the class with the most attendance will be crowned the Alumni's Mr. & Ms. Homecoming 2011. Parade and Golf awards will also be presented.

 

The Hall of Fame Breakfast will begin at 9:00 AM Sunday, October 23rd, in the Commons Area of Wilson High School.

 

Volunteers are needed to assist in all aspects of this great weekend.  We look forward to seeing you there!
